Baby Ayana's newborn shots.

This is little baby Ayana. So sweet. I took these photos in a pretty dark room. I had the choice to go with a lower ISO with a wider aperture... or higher ISO with a smaller aperture. I should have gone with the higher ISO. I didn't get as much clarity in the photos as I would have liked. BUT, next time. :D It's easier to fix the noise in a photo from a high ISO then and out of focus image.

Which brings me to another thing... I think my nifty 50 lens (50mm 1.4) needs a tune-up. I bought it used on Ebay and I never really got it checked out. I have issues with my auto-focus. It tends to focus close to... but, not on... the spot I want to focus on. Has anyone else had this problem?

I think I'll stop by a local camera shop this weekend and see what they say. If it does need to be fixed: I don't know how I'm going to make it without my 50! I use it everyday. I do have the kit lens... just not the same. :) Happy Friday everyone!

Welcome baby Ayana.

The sweet little Ayana was born on Friday, May 6th... She is the daughter of my very best friend: Courtney. Birth is just so amazing. Each and every time one of my friends has a baby... I'm just in awe. We're all so strong, mama's. Congrats to Courtney, Jamen, and welcome to Ayana. Love.

By the way: that little onesie I had custom made for Ayana. Courtney went to USC and her hubby loves them too! The lady that made this is the same person that made that camera tee for Ruari (right here). Check out the shop: Melon Dot!

These baby meltdown's are getting me down...

My Baby Girl has been melting down like crazy. It's like she's going through the "terrible two's" already. When she melts down she's a completely different baby. I don't know who she is. She falls to the floor... does the slow cry... and screams, "Ma ma!".

All it takes for a meltdown is: me walking by without picking her up... or, going to the bathroom, or the big one: telling her "no, don't play with the electrical socket". She falls to the ground and totally loses it. 

Even when I'm changing her clothes/diaper she kicks and twists away. ::sigh:: Wear's me out. I don't even know what to do. Am I encouraging her when I pick her up when she cries? Am I "ruining" her if I don't pick her up? 

Wow. Well, I hope this "faze" doesn't last for too long. It's been a couple weeks. Hopefully 2 weeks is enough. Well, maybe I can find some way to parent this faze out. Have you all dealt with this?

What up baby girl? Ok. That's all for today. Ruari turns 15 months today!!! I will be writing a lovely post about it for tomorrow.

FBFF: Forced Best Friends Forever.

That's what my friend Kelsey (her K.B. Squared blog is here) and I say our daughters are... FBFF. They are going to be the best of friends and braid eachother's hair (or... probably braid Coral's hair) and do manicures and NEVER do anything bad and be perfect little angels that never say "no" or disobey their mommies. :D

AND... how awesome is it that these two FBFF's show up to brunch wearing almost the same outfit? Yeah. They love each other. By the way... Coral's first birthday is almost here!

How about a little FBFF flashback... Coral was 3 months and Ruari was 5.5 months. Awww...

Here Ruari was 7.5 months and Coral was 5 months...

Love those girls!
