Baby Ayana's newborn shots.

This is little baby Ayana. So sweet. I took these photos in a pretty dark room. I had the choice to go with a lower ISO with a wider aperture... or higher ISO with a smaller aperture. I should have gone with the higher ISO. I didn't get as much clarity in the photos as I would have liked. BUT, next time. :D It's easier to fix the noise in a photo from a high ISO then and out of focus image.

Which brings me to another thing... I think my nifty 50 lens (50mm 1.4) needs a tune-up. I bought it used on Ebay and I never really got it checked out. I have issues with my auto-focus. It tends to focus close to... but, not on... the spot I want to focus on. Has anyone else had this problem?

I think I'll stop by a local camera shop this weekend and see what they say. If it does need to be fixed: I don't know how I'm going to make it without my 50! I use it everyday. I do have the kit lens... just not the same. :) Happy Friday everyone!

Photo Challenges ... I've missed you!

With that guy copying my blog posts and the virus I got on my computer last week... I've barely entered any photo challenges! I feel like I'm missing something! So, time to get my photo challenge fix!

New photo challenge I'm excited about: SELFIE Saturdays with the very talented Elena. So, I'm late with this first self portrait.... but, I wanted to join up. Week one is all about: Our Dream Self

Well... as a mom it can be hard to actually get a shower or even wear make up. I'm freshly showered and have some mascara on today. It makes me feel good. :) The second weeks theme is "full body shot". This is where my "dream self" gets a little difficult... I want to be in shape. I'm working towards it... but, it's been hard. I'll think of this next weeks shot as my "before" photo. :D I know I'm not overweight... but, I just want to be healthy and toned.

AND: Some of you have been asking... YES! My "new" camera lens is on it's way from Ebay! Yay! I had to wait to gather up all my birthday money before I purchased. I'm so ready and can't wait to get my lens! Yay!

Things I've said as a mom... that I never thought I would say...

After reading this post from Allie over at It's a Wonderful Life... It inspired me to do my own version of new mom things. Instead of baby math... I wanted to compile of few of the more memorable things I've said since becoming a mom. There are MANY more than what I have below... but, I'll save those for another time. Maybe I'll want to remember these things when I'm older... I don't know. But, here they are:

These are things I know I've said. I wont go into detail about each situation.. I'll just let your imagination create some fantastic tale. :D If you're not a mom and you're reading this... you may think I'm crazy. That's probably true.
