The American Immigration Lawyers Association is now telling members not to expect an announcement today. It is not clear why USCIS has delayed an announcement, but I will report as I learn more

Hi called USCIS to find out about my I-485 application....the lady who answered my call told me that my application was under extended review....she would'nt disclose much nor did I ask any additional info.

I did google for Extended review + I485 and found out a couple of links where people have been stuck in extended review for days / months / years....don't know what to make of it....

my PD is May 2004 and RD is Aug 9 2007 ...EB2 India....The lawyers have not received any RFE/ any email from USCIS since the day I have filed my I-485...I found out about it today when I called to just inquire about my case status ...

Anybody else had similar issue or heard about "extended review"...

Admin's any knowledge about what this is....

I sent the applications(I-140,I-485,I-131,I-765)to Nebraska center more than 3 weeks ago and it was received by them the next day(because I tracked the FedEx package).Until today,no receipts yet and my checks are not cashed yet and the receipting update says Current for Nebraska,so what's the meaning of "current"in receipting update if no receipts yet after 3 weeks?is there something wrong?

Gurus, business in my company is getting really slow and everyone is saying that some sort of lay-off is imminent. Although I am actively looking for new job, I find that the timing issue is hard to deal with.

My question is that: in the event of lay-off or firing and I don't have a new job lined up for me, do i have some "buffer" time to keep searching and landing for a job? Or do I immediately loose status?

I remember I read some guidances on this in this forum, and will be grateful if someone can point me to the right thread.

When the tech companies/competeamerica.org are bragging that retrogression is anti competitive and severely constraining the growth of the techies/employees, why can�t an antitrust lawsuit stand good in US courts?

Can somebody shed more light on this and explain why any lawsuit wont work against retrogression and/or for issue of EAD after I-140 approval, when retrogression is anti-competitive.

I have I-140 approved and also based on I-140, I have 3 years H1B approved which expires in 2010.
My I-485 was rejected and I have re-submitted which is obviously pending and not further news on that (refiled on 10/10/07 at CSC)

I have following questions:

1. If I want to travel to INDIA for 6-8 weeks, Is there any problem?
2. Can I get H1B VSIA stampled at BOMBAY?
3. Do I need any other document except H1B approval notice & I-140 approval notice?
4. Do I need to mention about I-485 been filed?

Please help. Thank you in advance.

H4-Visa stamping in Delhi. What are the documents that she needs to carry ?

did you get one? FP is necessary to the EAD
I filed EAD/AP and I485 together when I filed back in June 2005. I did not do any finger printing for EAD then. But for EAD renewal in 2006 and 2007 March, I applied EAD online. Then I had to go to ASC(Application Service Center) to give finger prints(not all fingers for EAD).
I'm one like you, check with your attorney for expert advice

Hello All,
I have couple of questions regarding Travel Document or Advance Parole.

My EAD has already been filed by my Lawyer but she is charging too much for filing Advance Parole or Travel Document,so here goes my questions.

- Is there a way to file for Travel Document myself, without involving the lawyer and if yes how can i do that

- Do I need to wait for my EAD Receipt being sent to me before filing for Travel Document.


i did this exactly, where my lawyer filed my ead, but i filed my ap myself. all u need is i-485 receipt copy.
