Date night!

While baby's away... mommy and daddy will play!

I need to point out the above photo of Mike... he almost always refuses to let me take a nice photo of him... and, I refuse to stop taking photos of him. The result: see above. SO, you will be seeing more of these... I'm going to continue to post his silly photos. ;)

We brought our poor neglected furry chihuahua child with us to a little wine bar. Poor lonely neglected Angus (he's not really neglected... he just acts that way).

Yummy treats. Not pictured here: the delicious S'mores cake I had. Whoa. Yum. More please. S'more please. Ha! ;D

Wordless{ish} Wednesday: Farmer's Market

{We wandered over to the Beaverton Farmer's Market.... which is so huge and awesome! One of the main reasons we went was to check out the local beef and chicken farmers. Were trying to switch over to hormone/antibiotic free range raised animals... and local! As much as I love fuzzy sweet animals... I do love to eat them. And, I want them to be treated well and taken care... before I eat them. :) There were actually a couple of farmer's there selling their meats that will be offering a whole butchered cow in the near future. We're thinking of splitting a cow with a couple of friends... we have a nice large freezer.... now breastmilk free... to store it in. ;D It was holding my massive collection of pumped milk... not anymore. ;D Happy Wednesday!}

I wear my sunglasses at night.

Well... it was 6 pm. Not technically nighttime... close enough. ;D I just bought Ruari those sweet blue shades! You like? I can't keep sunglasses on her... she's just starting to understand they keep the sun out of her eyes... but, she still pulls them off.

Sooooo, whenever my brother holds her she gets very quiet and doesn't move much (he's a big guy). She really likes him... says his name (Aaah-um = Adam), but she's just not completely sure yet. While he was holding her I thought it would be the perfect time to put her shades on. Oh man. I love these photos! :D They look so bad-ass in the photo above (hee)!

BY the way... if you're wondering where Ruari got her sweet shirt... it came from Melon Dot! She made it custom for her. I LOVE it! You can now buy one for your little baby in her shop! Check it out!

Chicken what?

I sorta/kinda/wanna get some chickens. I live in the city. So, it would be a little weird. Our backyard is VERY small. But, I think it would be fun. I love animals... but, I know chickens poo a lot... but, so does our Chihuahua... soooo.... :) What's a little more poo? Wouldn't be this year... but, maybe I can prep for it. Build a coop... a better chicken fence... etc.... Maybe for next year?

And... I'd also have to convince Mike... I told him he didn't know what he was getting into when he married me... I LOVE animals. I want animals around me... even when they leave hair and poo all around me. :) 

I would love the fresh eggs and I think it would be great for Ruari to grow up with it. My mom grew up on a farm. I did not... but, I still love the idea. I actually think Mike would enjoy it too. By the way: No... I wouldn't be able to butcher the chickens after they get too old to lay eggs. Nope. BCFF: Best Chicken Friends Forever.

So... apparently Portland has a Tour de Coups! Touring local urban chicken coups. How fun would that be? Ha! I'd love it! Am I trying to distract myself from the whole Surrogacy thing? Maybe... no... I'm planning on going to an IVF meeting soon for reproductive services. I thought I'd start there. :)

Wordless{ish} Wednesday: First Friday

{My friend Roxanna and I went to First Friday on the first. Wandered around my town. Had some free drinks and some free cheese and some free cookies. Yeah, it was fun. :) I very much love where I live. :D}
