ZOOOOOoooooo.

Well... since Ruari got a zoo pass for her birthday we can go ANY time we want. So... since the weather was going to be 70: we went. Ruari's been to the zoo 2 other times. But, this was the first time she showed interest in the animals! She absolutely LOVES animals and was having a blast! She really loved the giant dogs elephants (the same elephants she was scared of in February). :) We met up with my friends Kim, Stacey, and Kristen. They all each have a kid too. Awwww.

Pretty much EVERY animal was out and playing! I only took a couple animal shots... I think the animals really missed the sun too! Here's a fantabulous photo extravaganza for you below. :D

BY the way... if you're wondering where Ruari got her sweet shirt... it came from Melon Dot! She made it custom for her. I LOVE it! You can now buy one for your little baby in her shop! Check it out!

Just a few more days to vote... help me get into the top 25 baby journals!!!

Interview day.

A couple weekends ago I was contacted by a writer from the Flux magazine. This is a University of Oregon magazine. It's mostly an online magazine, but also has one annual print magazine. Great photos and lovely stories! So, she wanted to interview me... while reading some blogs she stumbled into the world of "mom blogging". Somehow through clicking through a ton of blogs she stumbled onto mine.

Since I'm an Oregon blogger she emailed me to see if I was interested in an interview. Sooo... after making sure it was a real magazine and her and the photographer were real people (turns out they are. Click here to see the photographers website) they came to my home last Wednesday. Just because I'm paranoid... I didn't want to be alone when they came by. My friend Kim and little Danny came by to hang out while they were here.

I was worried that I would be too boring... I mean... what could they photograph me doing for 2 or 3 hours? But, it turned out to be fun. Both of them are great people and I really enjoyed it. Ruari was shy at first... but, then she warmed up... then she was SO comfortable she even showed off her melt down skills. Ha! That's my girl.

So, I'll know in a couple months or so if it will be in their annual print in June. I'll let you guys know!

After they left the skies were clear and everything was fresh after all the rain/hail we were having... and, my Mom and brother showed up... so, we wandered outside to get a couple photos.

One more thing: I caught my brother playing with Ruari's toys in the play corner... I snapped a quick photo. Of course. I told him this photo has to go on my blog. Hee. I guess the sibling teasing doesn't end even when we're old. :D Look how happy he is playing there! What a good boy. :)

It was a long, but fun day! I very much enjoyed it.

Baby Daniel.

One of my closest friends, Kim, gave birth to her little baby boy, Daniel, last night. She was in labor for 36 hours... then, just one hour after his birth... she was ready for visitors! Man, she's tough. He's so sweet and little.

Ha! I love the look on Ruari's face in the photo below, "What the?"

Each time a friend of mine has a baby, I am amazed on how strong they are. So amazed. I can't believe that Kim and I have now been friends for... what, 15 years? Wow, I'm laughing just flashing back: we were a couple of dorky little giggly 8th graders.... Now: Married mom's. We've all been through so much in our lives already. Wow, and in just one month her sister will be having a little baby boy too!

30 days of truth:
Day 17: A book you’ve read that changed your views on something.

Reading Your Best Birth in the beginning of my pregnancy changed my views on birth. I think having the option for a natural birth is important. But, like in my case, the hospital is VERY VERY important. I really never knew anything about all the birthing options before I was pregnant. I do recommend this book.

If you have a moment, could you vote?
I'd very much appreciate it!
